Allahabad: – Allahabad which is also known as ‘Prayag’ and ‘Ilahabad’ is located in Uttar Pradesh, India. The city is surrounded by three most popular and holiest rivers in India – Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. It is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus and is one of four sites of the Kumbh Mela. Allahabad has very interesting history and rich culture of India.  Allahabad is the second-oldest city in India and there are many references to Allahabad in Indian Vedas and Puranas. The most important event at Allahabad is the Kumbha Mela and millions of people from all over the world gather at Prayag to take a holy dip at Sangam (where Ganga and Yamuna meet) and wash away their sins.  The most powerful ruler, Akbar built a beautiful fort on the banks of the Sangam and gives Allahabad its name Ilahabad. According to the Hindu mythology Lord Brahma chose Allahabad on earth to perform a sacred ritual.
