Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary: – Binsar lies in the lap of Kumaon hills, Himalayas at an altitude of approx 2500 meters. Binsar hills also known as Jhandi Dhar from where one can catch the beautiful view of Almora town and Himalaya Valley. If you are a nature lover and loves wildlife photography so this could be the ideal place for your travelling. It was the summer capital of Chand kings who ruled Kumaon from 7th to 8th centuries AD. One can catch the breathtaking views of famous Himalayan peaks from Binsar. This wildlife sanctuary was established in 1988 and has over 200 bird species. Binsar wildlife sanctuary has a museum about Flora and fauna of this place and it has wide variety of flora ranging from 25 types of trees and approx 24 types of bushes. It has pine forest at lower level and the higher altitude of sanctuary is covered with oak and rhododendron trees. One can catch the spectacular view of nature from Binsar.
