Hastinapur: – Hastinapur is one of the most popular and historic town located in Mawana Tehsil in Meerut District of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located approx 37 km from Meerut and 110 km from National Capital, Delhi on Delhi- Meerut- Bijnor highway . It is said that the ancient town is named after elephants and history of this place is linked with Mahabharata. The Pandavas ruled Hastinapur for thirty six years after winning the great battle of Mahabharata from Kauravas. It was the capital of Kuru dynasty and all the incidents of Mahabharata took place in this ancient city. During the months of March to June the temperature goes from 32°C to 40°C, the Monsoon season starts in July and ends in September and the temperature remains humid and moderate and the winters are cold and chilly and the temperature goes around 10°C to 4°C. December and January are the coldest month in Hastinapur. It is a small town with a population of approx 20000 people. The town has rich culture and tradition and one can experience the ancient touch in the monuments of Hastinapur.
