Nainital: – Nainital is the beautiful hill resort located in Uttarakhand, India. The hill station is situated at an altitude of approx 2000 meters in Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. Nainital is known as the ‘Lake district of India’ because the region is bounded by seven beautiful lakes and Himalayan Mountains. The hill station is located on the banks of pear shaped lake known as Naini Lake. Nainital is named after a temple named Naina Devi and a lake named Naini Lake around which it is situated. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that the eyes of Goddess Sati were dropped here when Lord Shiva was carrying her dead body and it is one of the 64 Shakti peeths. The place where sati’s eye dropped is came to be called Nanital or Naini Lake. Nainital is one of the most famous tourist destinations of India which attracts thousands of tourists every year to catch the beauty of beautiful lakes and stunning valleys. Climate of Nainital remains pleasant throughout the year and one can catch the glimpse of snowy peaks of mountains in winters. Reaching Nanital by road is much more convenient and enjoyable as this place is well connected by all major cities like Delhi, Haridwar, etc.
